Incubating Ventures for Investment
In our role as an AusIndustry-appointed COMET Business Adviser, we help early-stage tech ventures to become investment-ready. In many respects, COMET can be thought of as a virtual incubator for early-stage tech ventures. The activities in the COMET assistance plan can be designed to help a venture team achieve milestones and reduce risks, which are often prerequisites for securing initial or next tranche investment.
With the closure of COMET to new applications, investors in or interested in promising ventures should look at the other sources of government assistance available, particularly from Commercialisation Australia which superseded COMET on 1 Jan 2010.
